Lauren + Micah’s Wedding

“How behind are we in the timeline?”

One of my most frequently asked questions during a wedding day is, “Where are we at in the timeline?” Usually this is asked by a concerned bride or groom. My job on your wedding day is to not add to the stress. It is to keep us on track, get the photos I am here for, and make your wedding day be one of the best days it absolutely can be, so even if we are drastically behind in the day, I will always smile and reply with “We are doing great. Do not worry about what time it is.” I was recently asked by a friend “What is a good question to ask a wedding photographer when searching for one?” I responded with, “Ask them how they work under the stress of being behind in a timeline.” Your wedding photographer is really the only person who can regain back time that was lost in the chaos. Having someone who is decisive, thinks on their feet, is able to adapt to changes and still do it all with a smile and joy to their job is who you want. In my experience families and bridal parties usually notice if the photographer is stressed, and in turn they will start to stress. Having a photographer who can make that time up, and take command is so key to a successful wedding day!

This lovely couple is Lauren and Micah. One is a dental hygienist and one was an intern studying to be a dentist. How did they meet? Of course at the dentist's office working together! When I shot their engagement session I got to see their love for each other first hand. It was one of great admiration and gentleness. They were extremely easy going and you could tell they were just excited to be married. On their wedding day, the weather called for showers and overcast. Most brides and grooms would be worried or stressed, but these two went with the flow. Instead of worrying about the weather, they focused on the fact that by the end of the day, they would be married. They would get to spend the rest of their lives together. They always kept their sights on the bigger picture. I could not have asked for an easier couple to work with. No matter the situations or obstacles that come their way, they would do it together!
