What’s the point of getting photos taken?

For a lot of you, you don’t remember the last time you had professional photos taken. Was it when you graduated highschool/college? Maybe it was when your mom dragged you to family photos... As my business grows I realized I needed to ask myself “What is the point for someone to hire me?” So here’s my elevator pitch!

Photos are a lasting reminder of a season of your life. That moment when you bought a house, adopted a puppy, your 10 year anniversary, or you just had a really great summer tan. Photos serve the purpose of making a memory last forever. I have always LOVED going through the photo albums my parents have created. The 2021 version of this looks like scrolling through the 3000+ photos on your camera roll. Whatever that may look like, looking at a visual memory reminds you of how beautiful life’s moments are. I’m an advocate for fighting to take TONS of photos. I know I sound like a middle aged mom who takes 1000 photos of their kid playing in the backyard but photos are a great piece of a moment you can have forever! So don’t stop capturing your life on whatever level that may be. When it comes to your big moments in life, or just moments you really want to remember, having a set of photos taken with intention, and edited well is an amazing gift you can give to yourself. That is why I do what I do...I love to create visual “memories”.

I would like to introduce you to Dana and Gage. These photos are not engagement or anniversary photos. They are just simply couple photos. I had met these two through mutual friends, followed them on Instagram and thought they were the cutest couple ever. So on a cloudy April day, we went out and got creative. I remember Dana asking me what they should wear and I said “Whatever you want!” When they arrived wearing denim and skater shoes, I knew right away they wanted these photos to be true to them. I LOVE that! Photos are taken to reflect who you are, and where you are at in that season. So enjoy these simple photos. I was privileged to capture these two and their love for each other.
